WHAT IS COLOUR RENDERING INDEX

The color rendering index (CRI) is a method of measuring the characteristics of a light source. This is an assessment of how normally a light source displays the colors of objects compared to a known baseline of incandescent light or incandescent daylight.

WHAT ARE GOOD CRI RANGES

First thing to remember when purchasing and installing white LEDs, we recommend CRI 90+, but in conclusion we also say that a minimum of 85 cri range may be acceptable in some projects. Here is a brief description of the CRI range:
CRI 95-100 → Outstanding color rendering. Colors pop up as they should, subtle shadows pop and stand out, skin tones look great, art comes to life, and paintings show their true colors. Besides this is widely used in Hollywood, Bollywood production scenes, high-end retail stores, print and paint shops, in malls, designer hotels, art galleries and residential applications where natural colors need to be bright and shiny.

CRI 90-95 → Excellent color reproduction! Almost all colors “pop” and are easy to tell apart. Cool lighting starts with a CRI of 90. A newly installed teal backsplash in your kitchen looks beautiful, vibrant, and fully saturated. Undoubtedly visitors are starting to compliment the kitchen’s countertops, paint, and details, because the lighting isn’t the main reason to looks so great.

CRI 80-90 → Another key point are good color reproduction, because most colors are reproduced well. After all these are acceptable for most commercial uses. You may not see clips as saturated as you would like.

TESTING OF CRI

The good color rendering is essential for photography, store displays, grocery store lighting, art galleries, galleries and more. However, a light source with a CRI of more than 90 will ensure that colors are exactly as they should be, accurately reproduced and appear sharper. High CRI lighting is equally valuable in residential applications, as it can transform a space by accentuating design details and creating an overall sense of comfort and naturalness. The paint will have more depth and shine
